Ladigbolu became king after Alaafin Lawani. He ruled from 1911 to 1944. He was also a vassal king. The amalgamation of Nigeria happened during his reign.

Epitome of Intelligence

Jakande was sentenced to jail just like his boss, Awolowo. But Jakande was crying in the court not because of himself but for Awolowo. When Awolowo saw him, approached him and asked him “why crying for only me…” Jakande replied “I don’t mind going to jail and even adding your terms to mine, why South.West, why is it that the only Premier in Nigeria that will be jailed is the Premier of my Region?”. Awolowo replied “Dry your tears, God sometimes keep his own away when danger is approaching….”
And that was what happened! The reason why Nigeria didn’t break in 1967 was Obafemi Awolowo. Gowon said “I needed him badly more than I needed the Nigerian Army”…..Why? Two reasons;
1. The original rallying point of the Yoruba was Awolowo. If Yoruba supported the break up, no Jupiter can stop it. Therefore, to keep Nigeria one, Awolowo must endorse it!!!!
2. The wisdom of Awolowo was unequalled, unparalleled and unrivalled. His wisdom must not be on the side of the rebel, Nigeria would not survive without it.
No wonder the two Warriors Gowon and Ojukwu said and I quote; “I am the luckiest ruler of Nigeria because the best Nigeria asset in person of Chief Awolowo was my Vice Chairman and Finance Commissioner…”- Gowon. “Chief Awolowo is the best President of Nigeria that never was…”- Ojukwu.
Need I say more? Murtala Mohammed had ensured in his Transition Programme that Shehu Shagari would not contest but after his death, OBJ relaxed the rules…..Shagari was allowed to contest and won but in 1984, Buhari stopped Shagari again, describing his election as “shamelessly rigged”…….
NCNC was the popular Party in Lagos. They always won Lagos. And Awolowo’s Action Group would have lost in 1954 if not for Madam Abibatu Mogaji the mother of JAGABAN who mobilized the Lagos women for AG!
THE SECRET OF AWOLOWO….
Awolowo deliberately spent a lot of money in establishing exclusive investments for the Western Region where he thought the SW Progressive Politics would be financed. He said “SW need stable source of fund to fight politically because a poor people cannot fight the Central Government…”. No one knew this secret until his Deputy had issues with Awolowo and leaked the secret to the opponent. He told them “fight Awolowo from now till forever, if you didn’t destroy the Western Nigerian Investments, SW will always be buoyant financially and they will fight you and win you….” Wow!!!!! That was the end!!!
From that time, to cut the story short, SW was targeted! AWO was accused of fraud. Investments converted to Full state investment and later Odu’a Investment. And later, during the military regime, there was a time when all SW governors were non Yorubas, Odu’a investment was crushed. Cold dead! But LAGOS of Tinubu reinvested the progressive interest in a more sophisticated way. MAY THE SECRET OF LAGOS NOT BE LEAKED THE WAY ENEMIES LEAKED THE SECRET OF SW!!! The Story of Progressive Politics in Nigeria since 1954 had its Genesis from Awolowo’s Palm Tree which, After processing, have its revelation from Tinubu’s Broom!!!

1. Our closest living relatives

We are more closely related to bonobos (and chimpanzees) than we are to any other animal on earth. We share 98.7% of our DNA with bonobos – this means that bonobos are more closely related to us than they are to gorillas. This leads to many similarities between bonobos and humans, but also some key differences.

2. Females in charge

The main reason that bonobos are so peaceful is that males are not in charge. The dominant bonobo in any group is never a male. This is unusual in the animal kingdom. Usually, if females are in charge, they are a lot bigger than the males. Bonobo females are smaller than males, but the females have very special friendships. If any male in the group becomes aggressive, the females join forces and prevent him from hurting anyone. Over evolutionary time, bonobos have become much less aggressive than their ape relatives, including humans.

3. Peaceful

Most of us believe that humans are the most intelligent animal on earth. It’s true that we have been extremely successful, and we have impressive technology. But there is one problem we have not been able to overcome. We have not figured out how to avoid, murder, war, and bloodshed. We share this trait with our other closest relative, chimpanzees. In fact, the murder rate of chimpanzees and humans (before we had modern weapons) is about the same. Bonobos are the only great ape that have never been seen to kill their own kind. If we can figure out bonobos’ secret, we might be able to make our greatest accomplishment – world peace.

4. Conflict avoidance

Bonobos have evolved to avoid fighting, about anything. Researchers working at our sanctuary discovered that in a situation that had the potential to cause conflict (two individuals were in competition over food), chimpanzees had an increase in testosterone, which is related to competitiveness, and bonobos had an increase in cortisol, which is related to stress. This stress response leads bonobos to seek social reassurance and they hug and share instead of fight.

5. Good Samaritans

Recent research at Lola has shown that bonobos are truly good Samaritans, perhaps even better than people. We prefer to help people we are related to, or people we know, rather than strangers. Bonobos do love to share, and feel empathy towards family and friends, but when given a choice, bonobos prefer to share food with strangers.

6. Bonobo Handshake

The main way bonobos diffuse tension is certainly original – they have sex, or more specifically, they use social sexual contact. To strengthen their relationships, females will rub their genitals together. If anyone in the group, male or female, is feeling stressed, anxious, or irritated, someone will run over and give them a ‘bonobo handshake’. This kind of conflict resolution seems to be at the heart of their peaceful society.

7. Highly Endangered

Bonobos live only in one country, the Democratic Republic of Congo. They live in the Congo Basin, which is a huge forest, almost three times the size of France. However, the bushmeat trade has left them vulnerable to hunting. Bonobos are the most endangered great ape. No one is sure how many are left in the wild, but it could be as few as 5,000.

Another post says, "San Fran girl preggers. First try," followed by several emojis. Scroll up or down, you will find many photographs of positive pregnancy tests all posted by Gordy. All of these posts have congratulatory messages too.

According to a report by the Mirror.uk, Gordy has '18 children', with a few more on the way—his Facebook page shows several new posts with positive pregnancy tests.
The 27-year-old living in Los Angeles does not want to raise any kids himself, but he says he has the "primal urge to pro-create". After a string of failed relationships, Gordy decided to donate his sperm as he realised he was not the relationship type. "I always wanted kids but I get bored in relationships very quickly," he says.
"I have no pressure to find a girlfriend but I still get to have children. For me, sperm donation is a substitute for having a girlfriend," he says.
Gordy first became popular in 2014 when he advertised his services on Facebook. "I'm a very, very popular guy. 100 people hit me up every month. I'm in high demand," Gordy says. His first attempt resulted in a healthy pregnancy and the demand for his sperm has increased since.
Gordy donates to both single women and couples who have difficulty getting pregnant on their own. "I can't help everyone but I usually donate to between two and five people every month," he says. His clients range between 18 and 42 years, and he, apparently, gets a lot of repeat business.
While most women prefer artificial fertilisation, there are those who have approached him for doing it the natural way. According to him, a quarter of them have shared a bed with him. "When we have sex we try to make it fun," he says.
Gordy makes it a point to make sure that the child will be supported financially. Though he does all this for free, he says some of his clients have paid for his travel expenses and medical check-ups.
Gordy insists that he is a better option than sperm banks. He comes from a good family—a lawyer father and a programmer mother. "I don't do any drugs. I don't smoke. I don't drink. I don't drink caffeine. I eat only sperm-friendly food: wheat, brown rice ... fruit and vegetables," he says. "Right now I'm attending university. Both siblings are engineers. The nuclear engineer is my twin. My grandpa was a scientist."
Gordy hopes to hold a Father's Day party in 20 years.
The donor admitted there has been concern that his children might unwittingly 'bump into' their half-siblings and form potentially problematic relationships.
But he explained he has tried to preempt any issues by offering to introduce the parents of his children online.

King Tut’s Dagger that Was Made from Stuff that Literally Came from Outer Space

 
 
 
 
 

King Tutankhamun ruled Egypt’s 18th Dynasty for about nine years before his death in 1323 BCE during the Late Bronze Age when Egypt was at the height of its power. His popularity and the academic interest in him is so great because of the fact that his tomb was the most completely intact one discovered so far. He was also one of the few kings of Egypt who was worshiped as a deity with temples built as far away as Nubia. So, it is probably not surprising that King Tut’s dagger should be among the many archaeological treasures found in the tomb, though its origin has been a topic of much interest among archaeologists.

King Tutankhamun’s tomb was discovered by English archaeologist Howard Carter in 1922 following a search for it in the Valley of Kings, Egypt. Apart from the king’s mummy, the tomb housed 5,398 items including a very special dagger in the wrappings of the mummy.

The search and excavation of the 14th-century tomb of the 19-year-old pharaoh was funded by George Herbert, 5th Earl of Carnarvon, in 1915. Though the tomb was uncovered and robbed a few times, it was completely forgotten between 12th and 11th centuries BCE and became buried under stone chips either dumped there after work on newer tombs or washed by floods.

The tomb contained a few thousand objects including thrones, a solid gold coffin, face masks, bowls, trumpets, chalices, food and drink, footwear, and linen underwear, all probably meant to assist the king in his afterlife. A few iron objects—a headrest inside a mask, a golden bracelet with an amulet, and a dagger with golden hilt—were wrapped with the mummy. Apart from the dagger which showed refined craftsmanship, the objects were crudely made.

The dagger attracted scholarly attention since its discovery because its blade is made of iron, an extremely rare metal in the Bronze Age, leading to a theory that it has meteoric origins.

The dagger’s iron blade was set into a decorated gold handle with a crystal knob at its end. Its sheath is also gold and decorated with the head of a jackal and ornate patterns of feathers and lilies. Iron smelting and manufacturing were so rare at that time that iron was considered more valuable than gold. It was only used for ritualistic, artistic, ceremonial, and gift-giving purposes.

The presence of iron has fascinated many archaeologists, and it has been one of the many things earnestly discussed by them as no archaeological evidence for iron smelting existed until 6th century BCE. Though the high nickel content in the dagger indicates its meteoric origin, there hasn’t been any conclusive proof of that theory. Historically, testing ancient Egyptian artifacts has proven difficult because getting permission for any kind of direct testing is near to impossible.

Zambia bans "Mutototo" energy drink

Authorities in Zambia have ordered a local manufacturer to stop the production and distribution of an energy drink that reportedly caused a prolonged erection in a man.

An unidentified man complained of sweating and an erection lasting six hours after having an energy drink that has now been banned in Zambia.

The move comes after the Uganda Bureau of Standards (UBS) said in a letter dated 4 January that it had tested samples from a bottle of Natural Power SX after a customer complained of constant sweating and an erection lasting nearly six hours.

UBS said the drink contained sildenafil citrate used to treat erectile dysfunction.

The drink is manufactured by Revin Zambia Limited, a company located in Ndola in the north of the country.

The company's General Manager, Vikas Kapoor, told the BBC's Newsday programme that to the best of his knowledge the energy drink does not contain any drugs.

In a joint statement, the Zambia Medicines Regulatory Authority, the Ndola City Council and the Zambia Bureau of Standards said they had instituted investigations in the matter and will release the findings to the public:

“Officers from the three institutions are on the ground to collect samples of the raw materials and of the finished product for analytical tests that will determine if there is any truth to the claims being made.

“The outcome of this investigation will be communicated to the public as soon as results are released," the statement said.

In Uganda, authorities have begun to impound the energy drink.

Yoruba is now an official language in Brazil and MUST be taught in schools!

The West African language Yoruba is spoken by around 30 The Brazilian Minister of Culture, Dr Sérgio Sá leitão, while speaking at the Institute of African Studies, University of Sao Paulo, in Brazil paraded important dignitaries including Nigerian artists and historians, as well as professors of arts and African studies at a lecture on the importance of Yoruba language in the Brazilian culture and tradition.

According to him, the inclusion of African History and Yoruba Language in the curriculum would help bring the African Brazilian people close to their roots, and thus encourage the understandings of the language among other important languages in Brazil apart from Portuguese which is the official language.

The Minister highlighted the role played by Brazil during the festival of arts and culture, ‘FESTAC 77’, held in Lagos, Nigeria in 1977; the constant intercultural programmes between Nigeria and Brazil; the annual carnival of arts, music and cultural displays featuring prominent African artists and Yoruba writers such as Yinka Shonibare, Adeyinka Olaiya, El Anatsui among many others, including the highly respected Yoruba writer, Professor Wande Abimbola.
